    • CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that combines varied functional movements performed at high intensity. It focuses on movements you do in everyday life, making you stronger and fitter.  

  • Is CrossFit right for me?

    • CrossFit is for anyone! Our programs are scalable to all fitness levels, from beginners to elite athletes.

  • Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?

    • No! Our coaches will modify workouts to your current fitness level. We'll help you get in shape.

  • What are the benefits of CrossFit?

    • Improved strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall fitness. You'll also find a supportive community.  

  • How do I get started with CrossFit?

  • What should I expect in my first CrossFit class?

    • A welcoming environment, a warm-up, skill instruction, a workout (WOD), and a cool-down.

  • What is a typical CrossFit workout like?

    • Workouts vary daily, combining weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio.

  • What is the difference between CrossFit and a regular gym?

    • CrossFit offers coached classes, varied workouts, and a strong community, unlike typical gym routines.  

  • What equipment is used in CrossFit?

    • Barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, jump ropes, rowers, and more.

  • What is the community like at your gym?

    • Supportive, encouraging, and like a second family.

  • Can I do CrossFit while pregnant?

    • With modifications and doctor's approval, yes. Our coaches can adapt workouts.

  • Can I do CrossFit if I have injuries or limitations?

    • Yes, our coaches can scale and modify workouts to accommodate injuries.

  • What is the age range of people who do CrossFit?

    • All ages! We have members from teenagers to seniors.

  • Do you offer drop-in rates?

    • Yes, we do. Refer to our pricing for our drop in rate.

  • Do you offer personal training?

    • Yes, we offer one-on-one and small group personal training.

  • What programming do you follow?

    • We are proudly affiliated with CrossFit Mayhem.

  • How do you ensure proper form and safety?

    • Our coaches provide detailed instruction and constant supervision.

  • What is the WOD?

    • Workout of the Day.

  • What are the 10 General physical skills?

    • Cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.  

  • What are the main movements of crossfit?

    • Gymnastics, Weightlifting, and Metabolic Conditioning.

  • What is scaling?

    • Modifying workouts to match your fitness level.

 

Nutrition & Lifestyle Questions:​

  • What kind of diet is recommended for CrossFit?

    • A balanced diet of whole foods, including protein, carbohydrates, and fats.  

  • How important is recovery in CrossFit?

    • Very important! It helps prevent injuries and improves performance.

  • What are some good recovery techniques?

    • Stretching, foam rolling, sleep, and proper nutrition.

 

Team Training/Specialized Questions:

  • Do you offer team training?

    • Yes, we specialize in sport-specific team training.

  • Can you tailor CrossFit for specific sports?

    • Yes, we can design programs to enhance performance in any sport.

  • Do you offer any youth programs?

    • Yes, we do. Contact us for youth programing information.

  • Can I do personal training with a small group of friends?

    • Absolutely! We offer personalized group training.

 

Specific Gym/Class Questions:

  • Where are you located?

    • We are located at 6-45 Lahr Drive, Belleville, Ontario

  • Do you have showers and changing rooms?

    • Yes we have both!

  • Is there parking available?

    • Yes there is ample free parking available!

  • What is your class size?

    • Classes will range from 2 people to 12 people depending on the day.

  • How do I sign up for a class?

    • We operate through an app called Streamfit, upon signing up, a account will be created for you!

  • Do you sell CrossFit apparel?

    • Yes, we do offer Pure Grit CrossFit merchandise on site!

 

CrossFit Terminology:

  • What does AMRAP mean?

    • As Many Reps/Rounds As Possible.

  • What does EMOM mean?

    • Every Minute On the Minute.

  • What does RX mean?

    • As Prescribed (standard workout).

  • What does MetCon mean?

    • Metabolic Conditioning.

 

CrossFit and Health:

  • Is CrossFit safe?

    • Yes, with proper coaching, scaling, and progression.

  • How does CrossFit improve overall health?

    • By improving cardiovascular health, strength, and flexibility.

  • Can CrossFit help with weight loss?

    • Yes, combined with proper nutrition.
